Deadly Little Secret - Laurie Faria Stolarz

Some secrets shouldn't be kept...

Up until three months ago, everything in sixteen-year-old Camelia's life had been fairly ordinary: decent grades; an okay relationship with her parents; and a pretty cool part-time job at the art studio downtown. But when Ben, the mysterious new guy, starts junior year at her high school, Camelia's life becomes anything but ordinary.

I thought that Deadly Little Secret was a really amazing novel that kept me on the edge of my seat. Although it did start off exactly like Twilight, it got better as I progressed into the novel. Stolarz's writing style was very limited and short, with sometimes having one paged chapters, but it had something that I absolutly loved.

The book includes diary entries from Camelia's "stalker". It got me really freaked out at times. For example, someone had written the B word on Camelia's mirror with lipstick. (KINDA FREAKY!)

But anyways, The book itself was truly amazing. Not something I would read all over again, but it was still an awesome book. Although it starts off like Twilight, I wouldn't recommend this to the twi-hards out there (Twi-Moms for example). There is a sequel to this book called, Deadly Little Lies. As well, a third one coming soon in January of 2011. Stolarz has also planned to write a fourth novel to the touch series named Deadly Little Voices. Overall, this book gets 4 out of 5 stars.

Crank - Ellen Hopkins

Kristina is the perfect daughter: gifted high school junior, quiet never any trouble. Then she meets the monster crank. And what begins as a wild ride turns into a strugle for her mind, her soul-her life.

This book is one of those books you have to put down because you have to stop because it is so hard to read. Not just because the whole topic in this novel is on drugs but you really feel for this character. Kristina is just perfect person, but thinks she has a bad side to her, a bad side that will do anything she wants even if it turns out bad: she calls this side of her Bree. When Kristina goes on vacation to her father's in Alberquerque she meets a guy named Adam AKA Buddy, Adam soon intruduces her to drugs. In an instant, Kristina's life turns around completely.

This book was very well written, as the novel is set in verse form. The characters in this novel were relateable to people, Hopkins does a wonderful job writing character that will relate to people like you and me. This novel is in the point of view of Kristina. Kristina's Character was bittersweet, at times she will be a perfect, well-behaved girl but sometimes I would punch her in the face for what she does. Overall, I gave this book 5 stars, it was a very very very AWESOME novel! I was addicted to this book like Kristina was addicted to drugs.

There is a sequel to this novel named Glass. And a third one coming out in September of this year named, Fallout. The third novel to this series is set in the point of view of Hunter Seth Haskins, if you haven't read the 1st or 2nd books, I won't ruin it for you! So go and buy Crank By: Ellen Hopkins, you won't regret it!
